- 2 cups fresh or dried figs, chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and a pinch of salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
- Gently fold in the chopped figs, reserving some for topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and smooth the top. Add reserved fig pieces on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and allow cooling in the dish. Cut into squares and serve.
