Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package Angel Food Cake Mix
- 3 Egg Whites
- 1 cup Cinnamon Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- Vegetable Oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the angel food cake mix, egg whites, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix gently to maintain the aeration in the batter.
- In a large skillet, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat, aiming for around 350°F.
- Scoop a teaspoon of the batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil. Fry 3-4 pieces at a time until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the churro bites and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess moisture.
- While still warm, roll the churro bites in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar until well-coated.
- Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
