Description

A healthier twist on fried chicken that combines sweetness and umami, perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prepping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces Chicken Breasts
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 1/3 cup Cornstarch
  • Green Onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame Seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken by combining honey, soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil in a bowl. Add chicken and coat well. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare a cornstarch coating in a shallow dish.
  3. Remove marinated chicken and dredge in cornstarch for an even coating.
  4. Cook coated chicken in a hot sauté pan with oil for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
  5. Glaze with leftover marinade, boil, and reduce for 2-3 minutes before drizzling over chicken.
  6. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a juicier option, you can substitute chicken thighs for the breasts.
