Description

Delicious and fluffy Focaccia Breadsticks that are easy to make at home, customizable with various herbs and flavors.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour (substitutable with whole wheat or bread flour)
  • 1 ¼ cups Warm Water
  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (preferably extra virgin)
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • Herbs and Garlic (optional, e.g., rosemary, thyme, garlic powder)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture along with the olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, and cover with a towel. Allow it to rise in a warm location for about 1 hour.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into desired strips.
  6. Lay the strips on a greased baking sheet, spacing apart. Cover with a towel and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes, then enjoy warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, brush with melted butter or garlic oil before serving. Serve with dipping sauces like marinara or garlic butter.
