Description

A delightful twist on classic chocolate chip cookies, featuring the unique sweetness and tartness of Maraschino cherries.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (melted)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Maraschino Cherries (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped Maraschino cherries.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined or greased baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For a vegan option, replace butter with coconut oil or vegan butter and use flax eggs instead of regular eggs.
