Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized Potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup Yellow Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated (optional)
  • Cooking Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut into even chunks.
  2. Boil the Potatoes: Boil chunks in water until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
  3. Mash the Potatoes: Drain and mash the potatoes until smooth yet fluffy.
  4. Mix in the Flavorings: Combine mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper with the mashed potatoes.
  5. Form the Poppers: Shape small portions of the mixture into bite-sized balls.
  6. Coat the Poppers: Roll the balls in a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  8. Fry the Poppers: Fry until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  9. Drain and Serve: Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve warm.

Notes

For a vegan option, substitute Parmesan with nutritional yeast. You can also bake instead of frying for a healthier alternative.
