Description

Delightfully whimsical Butterbeer macarons inspired by Harry Potter, featuring the flavors of the beloved drink with a delicate French macaron texture.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp butterscotch flavoring
  • Pinch of salt
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  3. Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar.
  4. Whip the egg whites and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in the sifted almond flour and powdered sugar mixture.
  6. Add butterscotch flavoring and food coloring, mixing gently.
  7. Pipe small circles onto lined baking sheets.
  8. Let the piped macarons rest for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes, rotating halfway through.
  10. Make the buttercream filling by beating unsalted butter, then adding heavy cream and butterscotch flavoring.
  11. Assemble the macarons by piping filling onto half the shells and topping with the remaining shells.
  12. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
