Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Clear your counter and gather ingredients. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and beat until smooth.
  5. Blend Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until a firm dough forms.
