Description

Delightful strawberry cheesecake flavored rolls that make for the ultimate comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 cup Milk (warmed)
  • 1/3 cup Butter (melted)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries (diced)
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream
  • Additional Fresh Strawberries (for garnishing)
  • Cream Cheese Frosting (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, and yeast. In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and egg until combined. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until blended. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  2. Move the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and diced strawberries. Mix until smooth and well-combined.
  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Spread the cream cheese-strawberry mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  7. Begin rolling the dough tightly from one long edge to the other. Cut the cylinder into 1-inch thick slices.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, ensuring they are close but not touching. Drizzle the heavy cream over them.
  9. Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Once they are cool, drizzle with cream cheese frosting and garnish with extra fresh strawberries before serving.

Notes

These rolls can be made in advance and refrigerated. Allow to rise for 30 minutes before baking.
