Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh seafood (sashimi-grade tuna, salmon, or shrimp)
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • Sesame seeds, toasted
  • Soy sauce or tamari
  • Wasabi, to taste
  • Pickled ginger, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sushi Rice: Rinse sushi rice under cold water until clear, then cook according to package instructions with 1.2 cups of water.
  2. Season the Rice: Once cool, mix cooked rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  3. Shape the Wonton Cones: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), brush wonton wrappers with oil, shape into cones, and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden.
  4. Assemble the Filling: While cones bake, dice seafood, avocado, and cucumber, and mix with soy sauce.
  5. Fill the Wonton Cones: Layer sushi rice and filling in baked cones.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with wasabi and pickled ginger.
