Description

Deliciously warm and fluffy Vanilla French Beignets, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Create a well in the center, then add milk, eggs, butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  3. Roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into 2-inch squares.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F.
  5. Fry dough squares for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar while warm and serve immediately.

Notes

For healthier alternatives, consider substituting half of the flour with whole wheat flour or using coconut oil instead of butter.
