- 2 fresh pears, diced
- 1 cup fresh ginger, chopped
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup sparkling water
- Fresh mint leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Wash and dice the fresh pears. Optionally, peel them for a smoother texture.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with chopped ginger and honey (or maple syrup) and bring to a boil, stirring until dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, then strain to remove ginger pieces.
- In a mixing pitcher, pour the warm ginger syrup over the diced pears and add lemon juice. Stir gently to combine.
- Transfer mixture back to the saucepan and warm on low with the cinnamon sticks for 5 minutes without boiling.
- Remove cinnamon sticks and pour the mixture into glasses. Top with sparkling water and garnish with mint leaves.
Notes
Chill the drink in the fridge before serving for enhanced flavor. Pair well with appetizers for gatherings.
